Husky Global Environmental

These days it's fashionable for companies to greenwash themselves, but Husky have held environmental responsibility as a core business goal since 2002.

Husky are proud of their record in producing refrigeration which is beautiful to look at, performs brilliantly, and has as little impact on the planet as possible. Superior energy efficiency and insulation are key, and the company work with sub-suppliers to produce packaging from renewable sources wherever possible.

Husky is accredited by Greenpeace as an environmentally conscious manufacturer and the company was one of the very first refrigeration companies to voluntarily comply with the UK Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) regulations for the collection, treatment, recycling and safe disposal of customers' old refrigeration

.

Husky work with some of the world's leading brands, and ensure that factories undergo rigorous audits to comply with environmental responsibility and ethical employment principles.

Put simply, better products last longer.

Policy for 2011

Husky strives to lead the pack when it comes to the environment.

However while our customers cherish the planet, they don’t want their concerns to cost the Earth. Which is why our future philosophy is ‘Leaner, Meaner, Greener.’

Leaner – constantly streamlining our overheads to ensure cost increases to customers are minimised.

Meaner – by improving energy efficiency we ensure ‘best buy’ status for all of our products, and in particular the efficient new Intelligenzia range which has been developed by Husky engineers in their unending pursuit of perfection.

Greener – by the end of 2011 we will use only the natural hydrocarbon refrigerant gases R600 and R290 in our products.

The use of R134, considered a ‘green’ gas by some, will also stop, and where possible we will eliminate plastics from our range.
